U.S. Health and Human Services

The Department of Health and Human Services provides information on major government health initiatives and services affecting all Americans.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is the United States government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves.

The HHS oversees the Administration on Aging (AOA), which provides services to the elderly, especially to enable them to remain independent. It supports some 240 million meals for the elderly each year, including home-delivered "meals on wheels.”
